Here, portraiture goes beyond physical representation. Pictorial matter, drips, textures and embroidery reveal what remains unseen: emotional scars, inner conflicts and the marks we carry throughout life.

In F(e)rida, fragility and strength coexist within the same gesture.
In Frida, an embroidered “e” gives birth to the word ferida — wound. Stitched directly onto the canvas, the embroidery traces the figure like a symbolic suture. The needle wounds the surface in order to rebuild it, transforming the act of embroidery into a metaphor for care, repair and resilience.
The contrast between the deep blues of the background and the warm tones of the figure reinforces the tension between introspection and vitality. Textures and paint drips create a visual narrative in which the wound becomes more than suffering — it becomes a possibility for growth.
